If we want our students to be learners, we must first assume that role ourselves. Although character education has been around for a long time, many times we educators remain skeptical: Is this just another trendy movement that will soon disappear? How can we work character education into our already hectic schedules? How can we possibly sell it to cynical teenagers? Questions or fears are natural, and it is a wise idea to address them through consulting the experts in the field. Can character education actually improve both classroom behavior and performance? And, once we know that, what are the best ways to achieve those goals?
