The purpose of the Code of Student Conduct project is to work with three school district demonstration sites in order to study the process each one uses to come into compliance with N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7.1. The Cherry Hill, Highland Park and Montvale school districts have agreed to participate in the project.

CSCD's role is to serve as an external consultant to assist each district in planning a process that will lead to the formal adoption by each district board of education of a code of student conduct that meets the requirements of N.J.A.C. 6A:16-7. The focus of the consultation will be on the first section of the regulations requiring each district to adopt agreed upon core ethical values and develop a program plan that will support positive school climate and student academic and social development. Regional workshops will be held in November and December 2007 to showcase the results of the study.
