Building School Culture

CSCD@RU acts on the research demonstrating that school climate is a critical aspect of high-functioning schools. Through the Seven Guideposts for Building and Sustaining Successful Social and Character Education, we support educators in achieving their goal to provide a value-driven school culture in which children and adults can achieve and thrive. CSCD@RU facilitates professional learning communities of educators through projects such as Fostering Change in School Culture through Character Education.

Through programs such as the Caring Schools Inclusion Project, CSCD@RU is at the cutting edge of research designed to test the power of a caring school climate in fostering positive development for all students, including those with disabilities.
