The focus of Northfield Middle School is to create a healthy, safe, and secure environment for all their students, by educating the whole child. After learning that bullying was a prevalent issue within their school district Northfield Middle School implemented bully prevention workshops, health and wellness workshops, and the Olweus Bully Prevention program. Northfield Middle School also implemented the Community of Caring character education program. Their five core values (respect, responsibility, trust, family, and caring) can be found throughout the school community. The goal of Northfield Middle School is for all students to enter the school believing they have a positive purpose and that they are in a safe, caring, supportive, healthy, and ethical environment.

“The lessons we have learned about character, service and helping others are lessons that we will carry with us for our whole lives. When we have forgotten our geometry proofs and poems we have read, we will still remember the lessons we learned about who we want to be and how to treat people.” – Northfield Middle School 8th Grade Student
