New Jersey Schools of Character

Since 2006, when the Center for Social and Character Development at Rutgers University piloted the first State Schools of Character, it has received 76 applications from schools and districts with character education programs of exceptionally high quality. With very few exceptions, these applications have merited recognition in one of the following categories:
