Spotlights on New Jersey Schools of Character

The Center for Social and Character Development at Rutgers University is pleased to introduce our newest website feature: Spotlights on NJ Schools of Character.

Each month, we will feature one of the ten 2008 New Jersey Schools of Character (NJSOC) on our website. Our goal is to give you, our visitors a glimpse into what really goes on in these exceptional schools, and lots of practical ideas to use in your classrooms and schools. Spotlights will highlight:

  • Practical ideas that can be used everyday
  • Strategies for integrating character education into the curriculum
  • What administrators can do to lead the initiative
  • New perspectives on current issues from the field
  • The impact of character education on kids’ growth and development
  • How character education can change school culture
  • Why do connections between school and home matter?
Check in each month for a new Spotlight!
