PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

"The goals of "Money Management For The Real World" is to teach high school seniors about basic money management. They will learn to deal with home purchasing, auto purchasing and paying bills. The goal of the course is to teach financial literacy to students so once they get out of their parents' home, they will truly understand budgeting AND life choices. The program will WORK ON student interaction IN dealing WITH a budgets TO help them understand home purchasing AND monthly expenses they will deal WITH IN the REAL world. Students will also learn skills about mortgage qualifications FOR their FIRST home, OR qualifying FOR their FIRST apartment. This IS based ON 20 years experience OF the presenter who AS a lawyer has seen how the wrong life choices AND failure TO understand basic financial concepts result IN financial devastation LEADING TO bankruptcy. Students will learn how credit cards can destroy them financially unless they have a REAL understanding OF credit cards. Credit cards can be very beneficial, since they help students establish credit. Also they provide free gasoline, air miles, OR cash back. However, if the credit cards ARE NOT paid regularly each MONTH, the results can be devastating FOR students AND the student's credit is destroyed. Students will learn about life choices and chosing your life partner. Also, students will be taught critical thinking to examine life choices that affect their financial future. Finally, there will be extensive analysis of raising families, tax planning, and critical analysis in financial planning and career choices."
